Microsoft Gearing Up Internet Explorer 8 Beta Program

ieinstal_exe_01_13 Late yesterday evening Microsoft  started sending out invitations to participate in the upcoming Internet Explorer 8 beta program as the company said it would do.

In December of 2007 Microsoft detailed that the forthcoming browser had passed the Acid2 browser compatibility test and said it would deliver a beta version of the new application in the first half of this year.  At the time the company didn’t talk much about it’s new features, nor did they give a timeframe for a final release date.

Windows Vista SP1 Totals 551 Bug Fixes

WinVista-Button_rgb Over the past couple of days, I have been busy going over the bug fixes included in Windows Vista Service Pack 1. To my amazement Windows Vista Service Pack includes a total of 551 bug fixes, although, that is not really something to be shocked over.

When you consider that Windows XP service pack 1 (delivered in September 2002) about 14 months after the original RTM date; its list of fixes included 24 security bulletins and 297 hotfixes. While Windows XP Service pack 2 covered a longer period of time, but still, its list of fixes was staggering, with 60 security bulletins and an astonishing 666 fixes.
