Remembering 9/11

I know this is normally a "Windows Blog" but today, I felt it was necessary to take the time to remember 9/11 and to pay tribute to those lost.

Today is a day in which to reflect upon and commemorate those lost in the attacks in 2001. Today, I took the time to watch the memorial in New York at Ground Zero and I will say it was very impressive to see all the NYC Fire Department, NYC Police Department and many many others at the memorial. The world has not been the same since that terrible day and I still remember what I was doing on that day.

An all-agency honor guard made up of individuals representing City, State, Federal and non-profit agencies including NYC Fire Department (FDNY), NYC Police Department (NYPD), Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) and representatives of the victim’s families will participate in the ceremony.

During the ceremony several different people from the NYFD and NYPD and members of the community read the names (which has been done every year) of those lost in the WTC attacks at Ground Zero. The reading of the names were done by 200 readers, each reader read approximately 14 names. At 8:46AM there was a moment of silence in observance of time first plan struck North Tower, following the moment of silence families were able to walk down a ramp and place flowers as a tribute to the ones they lost.

The commemoration ceremony was great, it showed that we have not and will not forget this day, and I for one will not forget it. I will now show you some pictures from the commemoration ceremony from Ground Zero in New York City.

Finally, I would like to send my condolences and my prayers to the NYFD, NYPD, and the families of the victim’s of September 11, 2001. Please feel free to share your comments on this article. I ask that you only share POSITIVE comments and nothing more, please respect those lost and those suffering from their loss.

Thanks for your time and please stop back!
